Competing against four vessels and winning best theme for their craft “The Liberty,” Sarah Fransisco and Delaney Coveno paddle on the Nashua River, as part of a project following their reading of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Their teacher, David Melpignano, took 42 American Literature students out on the Nashua to experience the thrill and the sense of freedom that Huck and Jim experienced in their journey down the Mississippi.
